How Google’s Marketing is a Step Ahead of Apple in the Face of Harvey

Let’s admit it; Google Pixel is for Android users what iPhone 8 is for Apple loyalists. Google Pixel came in at a time when even android users were on the lookout for iPhone 7. And, now, with its latest versions it certainly aims to run at par with Apple. Though it’s another story whether or not it can or will, there is one great marketing strategy that Google decided to throw in the face of the aftermath of hurricane Harvey.

Google will repair your Google Pixel for free if it has been a victim of Harvey. Yes, the giant search engine turned smart phone manufacturer is up for some charity in the face of a natural disaster. Google has joined hands with the popular American phone repair service uBreakiFix to offer free of cost repairs to the Google Pixels phone of those who ended up damaging them during Harvey.

While some may see more important things like rehabilitation, that need to be prioritized, one cannot deny the importance of one’s phone in today’s life. We know what havoc loss of contacts, data, and communication can wreck. Well, that is one thing that Apple certainly didn’t think of.

The two companies are ready to make sure that the services are provided at various locations in Houston and the repairs are managed till the 30th of September. The same will be done at the following 7 locations as listed in a blog post by uBreakiFix:

1.      The Heights

2.      Rice Village

3.      Pearland

4.      Pasadena

5.      West Chase

6.      Sugar Land

7.      Webster

This could be in the wake of Apple rapidly getting increasingly popular as a choice among smart phone owners, not only in the US, but also worldwide. Now that’s a great way to add to great customer experience. Kudos for great marketing, Google!
